Worth a Thousand Words...
Dusk in Dallas. May 2011
Perception and perspective are the brushes that paint life as either a masterpiece of conquered milestones or a graveyard of unfulfilled desires. I have learned that life is seemingly built around special moments that are monumental in determining what we view as success or catastrophic failure. These events can be either tragic or moments of greatness, yet they always produce purpose, change, and insight.
In October 2011, I was blessed to take a trip with my father and my brother to the "Big Apple". This trip meant so much to me and we took in the big city, met its people, and ate plenty of its food. You have to love NYC.
Dallas, Texas is truly a jewel in the South. These shots were from the summer of 2011. The day temperature was cool and the nights were especially crisp but Texas definitely brought heat when it came to the dining, especially the BBQ! How 'bout them Cowboys!
Every Labor Day, my family and I pack up our cars and head up to Put-In-Bay, Ohio for a weekend getaway on Lake Erie. With scenic views and miles of shoreline, Put-In-Bay is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the Midwest.
I am blessed to have such creative friends who don't mind getting in front of the camera. These shoots are from 2006 to present and they truly are worth a thousand words.
During the Spring of 2013, the youth of the KIPP Connect Boys & Girls Club of Columbus and I organized a community peace walk to bring attention to the violence that had been gripping the Linden area since the beginning of the year. There are few things more beautiful than watching young people stand up and march for something that they believe in. The walk was as memorable as it was monumental. Keep up the great work KIPP Connect!
